Drydocking at Navalrocha

Comprehensive underwater systems maintenance programme

The MY MARE entered Navalrocha for a comprehensive drydocking programme focused on the maintenance and refurbishment of the yacht’s underwater systems. The project combined hull preservation, sea valve overhauls, seawater system maintenance and auxiliary mechanical repairs, requiring the close coordination of several specialist disciplines to ensure the vessel’s continued reliability and operational performance.

A major element of the project involved the preservation of the underwater hull. High-pressure washing, mechanical surface preparation, localised primer application and antifouling coating renewal were carried out across the underwater body, together with the replacement of sacrificial zinc anodes to maintain the effectiveness of the vessel’s cathodic protection system. Additional finishing works included the refurbishment of anchor equipment and selected stainless-steel fittings.

Mechanical works focused on the overhaul of the yacht’s seawater systems. Multiple butterfly sea valves were removed, refurbished, pressure tested and reinstalled, while both large and small seawater filters were dismantled, cleaned, inspected and returned to service. Further propulsion-related maintenance included the removal of the bow and stern thrusters for specialist treatment, together with repairs to underwater fittings and auxiliary equipment.

The project also included refurbishment of anchor chains, underwater intake protections and bespoke fabrication of replacement PVC grating, complementing the overall maintenance programme and ensuring the continued reliability of key onboard systems.

The successful completion of the project demonstrated Navalrocha’s capability to deliver high-quality yacht maintenance through integrated mechanical, surface treatment and specialist refurbishment works. Throughout the drydocking period, all activities were carried out under rigorous quality assurance procedures and comprehensive health, safety and fire prevention protocols, ensuring the highest standards expected for luxury yacht maintenance.
